Research

During the testing of our weapons made according to the documentations of excavations and auctors it became apparent that the material, the contraption and the size of the weapons called for different fighting styles, then those we presumed about the medieval reconstructions. According to the latest archaeological and historical research we tried to recreate their findings as quickly as possible. The piece of our equipment that is hardest to recreate is the helmet. Our helmets were made by István Heincz and Miklós Savanyó armour smith and goldsmith, between 1999 and 2006. Since 2006 the helmets are made by János Weixelbaum. Our shields, other armour, chainmail, shoes and clothes are made by János Weixelbaum too. The trial and development of the weapon fights was done by the Familia’s veterans, like Memnon /Zsolt Szilágyi/.
